This action group was set up four years ago and members include hospital staff, carers andCarers' Coffee Morning Event supporting organisations.

RD&E Carers Action Group Chairman, and Associate Director of Midwifery & Patient Care, Tracey Reeves said: “We want to work in partnership and support of carers when the person they look after is in our hospital. Carers can be an invaluable source of information which staff should draw on to improve patient care. We should also be able to identify and respond to the concerns of the carers in a practical and supportive way.

“We hope the coffee morning event provides an assurance to carers that the RD&E cares about carers and wants to support and involve them so that hospital experience for patients and carers is as positive as possible.”
