Zero Tolerance to Hate Crime

Following our support for Devon and Cornwall Police’s Hate Crime Awareness Week, the RD&E has now signed the Force’s new online pledge to support its ‘Zero Tolerance to Hate Crime’ campaign. This campaign aims to send a powerful message to our staff and communities, promoting respect for all and the zero tolerance for any incidents of ‘hate’.

We wholeheartedly support this because as an employer, we find it unacceptable for our staff, patients or visitors to the Trust to be mistreated in any way, but in particular because of their disability, religion, race, sexual orientation or transgender identity. The Trust takes a zero tolerance approach to such issues and encourages all staff to report such incidents on Datix (our central electronic system for incident reporting) and, where appropriate, to the Police..
