Renal day case

 

Our renal day case unit is available for all aspects of kidney care. We have seven rooms available for procedures, including infusions, medical reviews and clinic appointments. You might be seen by different kidney specialists while you're here.

We carry out many procedures renal day case, including:

  • Native and transplant kidney biopsies
  • Tunnelled and temporary line insertions for haemodialysis
  • Removal of tunnelled and temporary lines.
  • Externalisation of peritoneal dialysis catheters

We are able to give the following infusions:

  • Rituximab
  • Eculuzimab
  • Cyclophosphamide
  • IVIG
  • Antibiotics
  • IV fluids pre procedure or scan

Day case provides an area for review of dialysis access, peritoneal dialysis problems and pre-dialysis care. Patients also attend our unit before procedures carried out in the hospital's X-ray department. You might also come here to have bloods taken and be seen by a doctor.
