Renal (Exeter Kidney Unit)

Renal is the term used to describe anything to do with the kidneys. Our specialist unit looks after people with kidney disease and kidney failure, as well as patients who need dialysis or kidney transplant surgery.

Our doctors and nurses work with other healthcare staff, including dieticians and psychologists to provide the best possible all-round care for our patients.

The unit provides services for a population of around 960,000 across Exeter, East Devon, North Devon, Torbay and much of Somerset.

Our unit was designated 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission, in January 2019.
