Blood Sciences (Chemistry, Haematology and Immunology)

Staff working in the Blood Sciences department receive blood, urine, faeces and other fluid specimens from patients for examination in our state-of-the-art pathology laboratory. Scientists there will carry out tests on these samples to diagnose illness or to help treat disease. The laboratory tests over 3,000 specimens, producing around 30,000 test results each day to help in the care of our patients.
