We care for patients with a range of gastrointestinal, hepatic and nutritional conditions, as well as other general medical conditions.
Okement is a 27-bedded ward with four single-sex bays and four side rooms.
More on what we do
The ward works closely with the endoscopy unit and other health professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, the nutritional and intestinal failure support team, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) nurses, hepatology, upper GI cancer and palliative care nurse specialists.
We aim to provide the best possible care and support to you and your family.
We have quality goals on Okement in areas such as nursing quality, cleanliness, plus patient and staff safety and satisfaction. These goals are measured in different ways by the trust, ourselves and other external agencies. We always seek to obtain feedback from our patients so that we are aware of how we have met expectations or what we could do better.
Okement Ward is headed up by Dr John Christie (Clinical Lead), Tori Riches (Clinical Matron) and Jo Churchill (Clinical Nurse Manager) who together, lead a team of doctors, nurses, HCAs and administrative staff.
