Community Podiatry
Our team provides podiatry treatment and care for all types of foot problems and disorders. We work across Exeter, Mid and East Devon. We have outpatient clinics at several community hospitals and healthcare locations. We also offer a home visit service for people that are housebound.
All of our podiatrists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. This means they have completed a minimum of three years accredited training at degree level or equivalent.
More on what we do
Patients are usually referred to us by their GP or community nurse. However, you can also self-refer by emailing or posting a completed application form. We prioritise and triage every referral. If your application is eligible, we shall try to appoint you to a clinic close to your home. Your first appointment will be with a community podiatrist by telephone assessment or face to face contact.
We run a specialist nail surgery clinic for the treatment and removal of damaged, in-growing or infected toenails. We also diagnose and treat some minor soft tissue disorders.
Our specialist diabetes podiatrists provide care for people with active foot disease, including foot ulceration, infection, charcot foot and post amputation wounds. Our diabetes podiatrists see these patients, either at a local clinic or in their own homes, depending on the severity of their situation.
Our musculoskeletal clinic assesses people with foot abnormalities or those who have difficulty walking. We can provide custom supportive orthotics and insoles.
We have many community podiatrists who can treat common foot problems such as corns, calluses, bunions or toenail management for the elderly or infirm.
