Meet our skydivers!
Unfortunately, our planned charity skydive on the 3 July had to be postponed due to weather conditions. However, the group have thankfully all been able to rebook their skydives in the next few months - meet our group of amazing people who are going to be jumping out of a plane and skydiving 15,000ft to raise money for the RD&E Charity.

"I am so lucky to work alongside the most kind hearted and loveliest people who have the very privileged job of nursing our local community. The RD&E have been there to safely deliver my children, nurse myself and my children through our many clumsy accidents and have provided the most compassionate care to my friends, family and my patients. I am forever grateful for the RD&E and so immensely proud to be a part of it. So, I would like to give something back!’

"Being an NHS worker myself I understand and appreciate the fabulous lifesaving work that takes place across the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and I'm honoured and privileged to be given the opportunity to realise a lifetime ambition whilst raising money for a hugely worthwhile cause."

"As all my friends and family know I am a little bit crazy..... and I also work for the NHS - what more can I say.... After working timelessly through the pandemic it has resulted in me deciding to throw myself out of a plane (I HAVE to get out somehow) in order to raise some much needed funds for our wonderful NHS’

"Hi everyone, as you know I work at the RD&E and my amazingly 'wild' colleague Nicky has roped me in to doing this SKYDIVE for the RD&E charity, and what a better way of showing our appreciation to our local hospital, then to jump out of a plane at 15,000 feet!"

"The Royal Devon & Exeter staff have been life saving for my family. After having joined recently as part of the technical team behind the scenes, I get to see every day, the unbelievable commitment from staff across this hospital. Any contributions raised will go directly to children's services at the RD&E, as part of a much bigger project to improve their outpatients and waiting areas. Thank you!"

"I have always wanted to do a skydive but always been a bit too scared, so when the opportunity to raise some funds for my NHS trust at the same time arose, I couldn't say no! All donations would mean so much to me and the RD&E Charity

"I have been an employee at The RD&E Hospital since June 2016 as a Domestic Assistant, then a Theatre Assistant (PEOC) and currently in an HCA role at the weekends. I would be grateful for any sponsorship however small. All will make a huge difference to this amazing cause."

"I am skydiving to raise money for the Starfish Appeal. This has been on my bucket list for some time but have been both terrified and excited of the thought of doing this. So I would be very grateful if you can help me achieve a dream and benefit the children. Thank you x”

“To help improve the working environment, the facilities, and help fund innovative ideas/solutions to working day problems in the local NHS trust. I believe such local changes can improve staff morale and satisfaction, as well as driving improvements in patient safety and experience”.
