Park & Ride to Wonford Hospital

Let someone else do the driving, so you don't have to worry about congestion and parking. The Park & Ride also helps keep more cars out of the city centre, meaning faster journey times and improved air quality.

The Trust provides two Park & Ride services, one from Sowton and one from Digby. They are run in partnership with Dartline Coaches. The buses go directly to the RD&E Wonford site, stopping at the Peninsula Medical School (RILD), the Hospital main entrance, and the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre (PEOC).

The RD&E Park & Ride service has changed

The Digby Park & Ride car park is an RD&E staff-only site, for staff members with valid Park & Ride permits to use. While visitors, patients and members of staff without permits can still catch the bus from the Digby site, they are unable to use the car park.

The Sowton Shuttle, SPR3, is a new service for patients and visitors coming to Wonford. It leaves from the Sowton Park & Ride site on Sidmouth Road (EX2 5GL), and runs a direct service to the Hospital every 30 minutes, Monday to Friday, 6.40am to 8.10pm.

Please refer to the SPR3 timetable for travel times to and from the Sowton Park & Ride

The Digby service, PR3, leaves from the Digby Park & Ride site on Digby Drive (EX2 7QL), and runs a direct service to Wonford Hospital every 15 minutes (every 10 minutes during peak times: 6.40am-9am and 3.30pm-5.30pm), Monday to Friday. The car park at Digby is for RD&E staff members only, although anyone travelling to and from the Hospital can still catch the bus.

Please refer to the PR3 timetable for travel times to and from the Digby Park & Ride

The Park & Ride is one of the most cost-effective forms of transport, with an adult return costing £2 (£1.50 single) and a child return costing £1 (80p single)

A return ticket is only £1.50 for all English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) pass holders.
