GP/General X-ray

General x-ray roomThe plain image section of the department performs imaging for approximately 350 patients per day. This part of the department consists of 5 x-ray rooms where a variety of examinations are performed.  These include imaging of the skeleton, chest, abdomen, sinuses and dental radiography.

We also have a room in the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre (PEOC) which predominately deals with orthopaedic imaging.

As x-rays use radiation we adhere to IR(ME)R (ionising radiation (medical exposure) regulations 2000). This means for female patients aged between 12-55 years, we need information about the date of your LMP (last menstrual period) and if you may be pregnant.
