The paediatric team at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital offers excellent care for all children and young people across East Devon from 0-18 years of age.

Inpatient and emergency services at the Royal Devon and Exeter are delivered at the Wonford site and include the children’s ward Bramble, Paediatric Assessment unit in the Emergency Department, and the Neonatal Unit in the Centre for Women’s Health.

Outpatient clinics are in a dedicated Paediatric outpatient department in the hospital and in many community settings and special school clinics.

We provide acute and long term paediatric care including a range of specialties. More information on these can be found on our specialities page.

Special educational needs and disability (SEND) coronavirus advice

These are covered by our permanent staff which comprise of consultants and specialty doctors.

As a department we aim to empower patients and their families. We encourage GPs to follow referral pathways, to ensure that our patients are seen by the correct doctor in a timely fashion. These can be found on the NEW Devon CCG website.
