Staying safe doesn’t change: please continue to wear a face mask on our sites

26 Jan 2022

National restrictions put in place during the Omicron surge are easing tomorrow (27 January 2022). To help us keep our patients, staff and visitors safe, please continue to wear a face mask or covering when visiting an RD&E healthcare setting.

This includes our acute hospital, community sites and hospitals, and the Exeter COVID-19 Vaccination Centre (Greendale).

This is in line with national infection prevention and control (IPC) guidance, which has not been changed.

If you are a deaf or hearing impaired, our staff have a range of communication options to ensure that they can communicate effectively with you. This might include visual aids such as writing things down, speech to text apps and sign language.

We understand that for some people, wearing a face covering may be difficult due to physical or mental health conditions, and these people will remain exempt.

We also ask that people continue to follow social distancing and hand hygiene measures when visiting an RD&E healthcare setting.

We all have a role to play in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping our hospitals safe – thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
