NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter
The NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter was set up to care for patients with COVID-19.
It has proven to be an invaluable resource to support care for the Devon and wider South West community during the pandemic, providing care for people with COVID-19 and access to important diagnostic tests.
COVID-19 care at the Nightingale hospital was stood down on 1 April 2021, but the facility is continuing to support the Devon system through hosting diagnostic testing.
We recognise that these efforts would not have been possible without the many staff, partners and volunteers involved who worked tirelessly to support the Nightingale, and we are very grateful to all these people.
Discussions are now underway to maintain a long-term service at the site, continuing the hospital legacy and supporting care in the region.
