Welcome to our Non-Executive Director recruitment web site. We have created this site to give prospective candidates the opportunity to find out more about the work of our Trust and the role of the Non-Executive Director.
The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust was one of the first NHS Trusts to be granted foundation status in April 2004. In each of the last five years of the government ratings the Trust was awarded the highest 3-stars rating, making us one of the premier NHS Trusts in the country. Since becoming a Foundation Trust we have continued our focus on the delivery of quality healthcare for the benefit of the local community.
Foundation status places greater importance on attracting the right people for appointment as Non-Executive Directors to the Board, in order to achieve our goals we require specific expertise in order to balance the skills on the Board. On this occasion we are seeking two people who have worked at Senior/Board level and whose experience has encompassed the following areas:
People Management in a complex organisation, ideally the person will have an in-depth understanding of strategic human resources issues including planning, development, policy and diversity. The person does not have to be an HR professional but should have been involved in the strategic management of a large workforce.
Or
Public Sector/ Voluntary Organisation/ Mutual Sector/ Third sector (Charity)
An individual who has worked in a senior role where they have been instrumental in building partnerships with other organisations and where an understanding of stakeholder relationships has been key. The person will have had a career in one of the above areas which could also include any of the following: Civil Service, Local Government Police or Armed Forces.
