Media enquiries
By the nature of the round-the-clock health care and emergency services provided at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and the reputation of the Trust for its innovative research and development of patient care, there is a broad range of interest from local, national and international media in the work of the hospital staff and sometimes, individual patients.
The Trust has a Communications Office as the point of contact for all media enquiries – from breaking news and patient condition checks to requests for interviews and specialist features.
To protect patient confidentiality, dignity and respect, and to ensure that frontline health care services are not disrupted, all media enquiries should come to the Communications Office (not direct to wards or individual staff members).
No filming or photography can take place on any Trust site without permission having been given first by the Communications office or duty manager.
The Communications Office is available to take media enquiries from 8.30am until 5pm Monday to Friday on 01392 402833 or 01392 406941, except on Bank or Public Holidays.
During office hours the Communications Manager can be contacted for urgent enquiries by asking the hospital switchboard 01392 411611 to page her.
Outside office hours media representatives should in the first instance call 01392 411611 and ask for the duty manager.
