RD&E staff celebrated at seasonal Extraordinary People Awards ceremony

Staff at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital were celebrated for their exceptional achievements at the hospitals Autumn Extraordinary People Awards.

The seasonal awards are a way of recognising extraordinary staff who do exceptional things and often go above and beyond to provide high quality services. Nominations are made by fellow staff members or patients who want to acknowledge the contribution of an individual or team, and the winners in each category are chosen by a panel of judges from the Trust’s Executive Board.

The autumn awards ceremony, which was hosted by Trust Chairman James Brent, recently took place at the Wonford hospital. It was attended by staff, Governors and members of the Board, along with the winners of the awards and those who nominated them.

The awards categories consist of Excellent Care, Exceed, Exemplar, Extra Mile Individual and Extra Mile Team.
The autumn winners include:

James Brent, Chairman of the RD&E, said: “It is a privilege and a pleasure to hear such inspiring stories whilst judging these awards and choosing the winners is always a very hard task.  I’d like to congratulate all of our winners in this round of our Extraordinary People Awards – they are outstanding examples of our staff who every day go the extra mile to deliver safe and high quality care to our patients.”

The inaugural Extraordinary People Awards were held in spring 2013. The Trust runs three seasonal award ceremonies a year and holds a grand ‘Winner of Winners’ ceremony to celebrate all those who have been successful throughout the year.
