POSTPONED Walk or run with the Lions and raise money for Bramble

Leroy**** Unfortunately this event has had to be postponed until spring next year – please keep an eye out for more details *****

Get your walking paws at the ready and come down to the Exeter Quayside on Sunday 14th September to ‘Walk with the Lions’ or ‘Run for Bramble’. The 2.5k sponsored walk and the 5k sponsored run is being organised by local charity the Exeter Lions Club to kick off their latest fundraising campaign – the Bramble Children’s Play Fund.

Join mascot Leroy the Lion, dressed up as your favourite animal, to walk or run along the picturesque banks of the River Exe and raise money for a worthwhile cause.  The run starts at 11am and the walk at 12.30pm from Piazza Terracina.

Proceeds from the event will support the Lions’ campaign to revamp the outdoor play area at the Bramble Children’s Unit in the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital in Wonford. The play area is used frequently by patients and their families, but is in need of a revamp to replace tired-looking equipment and a worn-out soft play surface.

Nigel Lawrence, Acting Assistant Director of Nursing at the RD&E said: “Walk with the Lions promises to be an excellent event and we think it’s fantastic that the club are supporting Bramble in this way.”

Everyone is welcome to take part, although children under 10 years-old must be accompanied by an adult.
