Exeter Kidney Unit to Hold Service of Celebration

Kidney patients, relatives, donors and supporters of the Exeter Unit are being invited to a service of remembrance and celebration at Bicton College East Budleigh, Ex9 7BY on Sunday 8 September from 11 am.

The service aims to remember loved ones, celebrate life, give thanks to donors and their families and to show appreciation for the work of the Kidney Unit. It will be led by the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital chaplaincy team.

After hearing from guest speakers, people attending will be offered flowers to scatter on the lake in memory of family, friends and donors.

People are also being invited to bring a picnic and chairs or a rug and to mingle with each other while they enjoy the flower garden, arboretum, lake and boat house.

Dr Lucy Smyth, Consultant Nephrologist, said: "The Renal Unit are really looking forward to this opportunity for patients, relatives and staff to get together to remember loved ones and give thanks to kidney donors and their families.

"We're really pleased to have the wonderful setting of Bicton College for our Day of Remembrance".
