Our care of patients with dementia was recently highlighted by a Government Minister in the House of Commons.

Minister of State for Care Services Paul Burstow MP told the House (11 June) about the work we have done piloting and adopting the Alzheimer’s Society ‘This is Me’ passports for our patients. The passport document records all the personal information about each patient so their hospital and ongoing care is individual to their needs. Our ‘Hour to Remember’ staff awareness sessions about dementia and the specialist ward staff training we have developed so that patients with dementia are safe in our care was also highlighted by Mr Burstow as innovative practice.
