RD&E stroke services rated highly in national audit

 

RD&E Stroke Consultant Dr Martin JamesSpecialist acute stroke services provided at theRoyal Devon & Exeter are rated highly in a national audit published today (Thursday 19 August) by the Royal College of Physicians.

 

Consultant Stroke Physician Dr Martin James said: “The national audit shows that the Royal Devon & Exeter provides a Stroke Service which has been independently benchmarked as among the best 25% in the country. Particular strengths at the RD&E include the acute service and the stroke unit on Clyst Ward, the outpatient TIA service which provides rapid access for patients suspected of having a mini stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack to specialist clinical care, and stroke research. The audit results are testimony to the hard work by the stroke service team and their commitment to improving services for RD&E patients.”
