Who can become a Member?
- Most of our Members live locally but membership is open to anyone aged 12 years and over living in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
- RD&E staff (with a minimum 12 month contract).
Why become a Member?
- Many of our Members are former or current patients or NHS employees.
- Some feel membership is a way of ‘giving something back’ to the community, the RD&E or the NHS.
- Some are interested in healthcare services and how they are planned and delivered.
- Some want to take up this opportunity to influence what services are provided by the RD&E.
How do I become a member?
You can join today by completing the online form. Alternatively, if you would like to receive an application form via the post, please contact the Foundation Trust Office on 01392 403977 or by email at foundation.trust@rdeft.nhs.uk
What do Members have to do?
- How much Members want to get involved is very much a personal choice and there is no obligation or expectation on you.
- Members receive a newsletter which tells them what is happening at the RD&E and when there are meetings or events they might like to attend.
- Members can come along to meetings and events to tell us what they think about our plans and talk to Governors who represent Members and the wider community.
- Members can vote in the elections to the Council of Governors – or may consider putting themselves forward for election
