Upper GI Research Fellowship

Since 2006, we have fully funded the appointment of a Research Fellow in Upper GI Surgery Research, specifically to investigate the many aspects and outcomes of Minimally Invasive Oesophagectomy. In particular, we are striving to assess how effective a treatment this is for oesophago-gastric cancer and how we can improve this still further as a safe, effective, curative procedure of choice for patients with this disease.

 

Research Fellows have found this to be an exciting as well as challenging undertaking. As our abstracts and publications, demonstrate the many complex issues relating to the management of oesophago-gastric cancer and the opportunities to progress this further.
