Leading the Way on Research
The Research & Development Directorate are committed to ensuring that research performed at the Royal Devon & Exeter Foundation NHS Trust is of the highest scientific and ethical standard in order to protect the dignity and rights of patients.
External recognition of the quality of our research has included:
- Annual National NHS R&D funding of over £3M
- External grant income of over £2M
As well as the administration of the R&D approvals process, Noy Scott House hosts several other teams who all work to support medical research in Exeter:
- Three Local Research Networks are based at the RD&E
- The Research Design Serviceprovides practical advice on anything from what question your research project might ask to how to get funding for it
- Folk.Us promotes the involvement in service users, patients and carers in research.
- The Peninsula Technology Action Group (PENTAG) reviews research across multiple studies in a given field to help bodies such as NICE to decide which drugs, devices and procedures should be adopted nationally.
