Percutaneous angioplasty and stenting for aorto-iliac disease National survey of current practice

Welcome to this web-based survey.

The aim of this survey is to assess the incidence of iliac artery rupture during iliac artery angioplasty and stenting and the current role of interventional radiology in the management of this complication.

Iliac artery rupture following angioplasty is a rare complication. The optimal treatment for this complication has not been defined, but may involve endovascular or open surgical repair. From this survey we hope to determine:

In addition, we would also like to ascertain what percentage of interventional radiologists are members of the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR) and how many centres submit data to the BSIR Iliac Angioplasty and Stent (BIAS) registry.

We have sent this survey to all current members of the BSIR. The survey has also been sent to Members and Fellows of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR), as part of the monthly e-bulletin. We hope that this process will ensure that a representative sample of interventional radiologists will complete the survey and allow us to determine the relative merits of the different treatment options.
