Explanation / description:

This is a 43 (including a 4 bed Transitional Care Unit) bedded ward for Maternity. It is staffed by Midwives, Maternity Auxilaries and Maternity support workers. Visited by Consultant Obstetricians, Registrars & SHO’s, Consultant Paediatricians, Registrars & SHO’s. The Teams are supported by 2 Ward Clerks & Housekeeping Staff

Visiting times:

9am – 8pm - Partner only, (or one nominated visitor)

 

Only one visitor – (your partner or one nominated visitor if your partner is unavailable) is allowed on the ward in the mornings. This is to enable patients to rest and for important ward business, including easier access for cleaning around bed spaces.

 

2.30pm – 6.30pm – Ward open to general visitors. Limit of 2-3  visitors per patient at any one time.

 

Please note: Children of the parent are allowed to visit between 9am – 12 noon and then from 2.30pm – 8pm.

 

No visitors are allowed in except partners during the patient lunch and rest period of 12 noon and 2.30pm.
