Meet the Staff
The Housekeeping Services Team has:
- 2 Managers
- 10 Supervisors at Wonford and Heavitree Hospitals who wear red tunics with black trousers.
- Over 320 ward housekeepers, domestic assistants and support workers at Wonford Hospital, Heavitree Hospital and Mardon Centre, who wear lilac tunics and black trousers and clean clinical and non-clinical areas.
The Role of the Ward Housekeeper
Hours of work: 7.15am-3.15pm
Cleaning Duties: General areas such as bays, side rooms, offices, treatment rooms, ward pantry.
Food and Beverage Service Duties: Completion and submission of patient menus, meal updates, all food and beverage services and washing of dishes etc.
Staff who serve food and beverages do not clean toilets or bathroom areas.
The Role of the Domestic Assistant
Hours of work: 7.30am- 1.30pm
Cleaning Duties:
- All sanitary areas such as bathrooms, showers and toilets areas, emptying and relining of all bins household and clinical waste
- General cleaning of bays and side rooms
Food and Beverage Service Duties: None
The Role of the Evening Ward Housekeeper
Hours of work: 5.15pm-7.45pm
Food and Beverage Service Duties: Service of supper meal to patients, beverage and washing up etc
Cleaning Duties: Emptying and relining of all bins – household and clinical waste or Cleaning of all toilet areas.
Please note all cleaning duties are undertaken after the food service has been completed
