RD&E Heavitree Haemodialysis Unit
The RD&E Heavitree Haemodialysis unit is the new £2.2 million unit which opened to patients in 2010.
The modern facility has 24 dialysis stations to help meet the growing demand for the specialist treatment. It also has six single patient rooms, waiting area, better parking facilities and a new self-care suite for those patients who prefer to do their own treatment regime. Up to 144 renal patients a year will benefit from the services at Heavitree from across Devon.
RD&E Healthcare Assistant Debbie Matthews, who works in the Heavitree unit said: “It’s been wonderful moving over to this new unit – it’s bright, airy and more spacious with the hi-tech equipment.
We have a great team working in a high quality environment for our patients.”
Thank you to the Kidney Patients’ Association for their continued and valued support to this unit and the Trust renal service.
