As part of the Facilities Directorate, the Estates Department ensures that the Trust’s estate is developed and maintained to the continuing requirements of the Trust’s quality standards, its patients and visitors.

Estate covers:
- The Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford)
- The Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Heavitree)
- Mardon Centre
- Exeter Mobility Centre/Devon Orthopaedic Association
- Bell House
Led by the Head of Estates, the Department comprises:
- Estates Maintenance and Project Officers
- Estates Supervisors, with their skilled Building, Electrical and Mechanical tradestaff.
- Fire Advisors
- Helpdesk
- Administration and Clerical team
- CAD Technician
The RD&E (Wonford) offices and workshops are located in a separate building near the Boiler House (between the Emergency Department and the Laundry).
Cross the road from the Emergency Department and take the steps opposite, signposted down to Estates.
The RD&E (Heavitree) offices and workshop are located at the top end of the Heavitree site.
From the top end of Barrack Road, take the 2nd turning left along Polsloe Road, through the gates and down the slope. The offices and workshop are immediately to the right.

If a fault is discovered or problems are experienced, a call to our Hot-Line/Helpdesk is made, where our trained operators log and prioritise the call.
Depending on the urgency, the aim is to respond to 70% of calls within one working day.
