Pre-arranged visits to the Emergency Department
The specialist skills of our nurses, doctors and consultants can be called upon by community-based GP’s for their patients. This might be for example, for Ear Nose and Throat, plastics, paediatrics or orthopaedics. The patient in these circumstances would be booked in for a pre-arranged visit. We advise patients that the pre-arranged visit does not however mean they will be seen at a set time or immediately on arrival.
ED Clinic
Some patients need to come back to ED for a follow-up check and assessment for their condition, for example, burns, bites and when limbs might need re-plastering. This is a consultant-led service running seven days a week.
Introduction
