Osteoporosis Service offers a service to determine bone density, utilising a DXA Scanner. DXA stands for ‘Dual X Ray Absorptiometry’, this is a scanner which uses an x-ray beam to measure bone density assess the likelihood of whether there are signs of osteoporosis present. It is a simple, painless procedure that uses very low levels of radiation. In addition to this the service also offers advice on treatment, exercise, diet and lifestyle to assist one living with Osteoporosis.
