The Trust recognises the exceptional work of our employees and in recognition of this the Trust has created a variety of initiatives and schemes to help support the commitment and hard work of our dedicated workforce.

The Trust holds a commitment to the support and development of all our staff and this supported by Managers creating Personal Development Plans (PDP’s) with their staff in order to identify any areas for them to learn and develop within the hospital. These are then used in conjunction with our comprehensive Learning and Development Department who can offer a range a training from clinical skills and management skills training, to customer care and pre-retirement courses.

The Trust also promotes a flexible approach to its workforce and offers a range of support to its employees to help support a healthy work life balance.  This includes an array of childcare services, policies to support flexible working, as well as counselling and support for employees.

As well as this the Trust has set up benefits and discounts for its entire staff.  These benefits range from discounts in many major high street shops, subsidised travel on public transport, and more specialised local discounts in many shops, cafes and restaurants around Exeter and Devon.

And remember, it’s not simply doctors, nurses and medical experts that play a part in caring for our communities. Far from it. Today, we also rely upon the talents of hundreds of non-medical staff. From catering assistants to medical secretaries, cleaners to accountants, IT experts through to maintenance, it really is a massive team effort.
